"Overcoming Obstacles With Relentless Effort Towards Success"
Non-Profit Orgainzation
our mission
Our organization's primary objective is to establish pathways that enable all students to access educational opportunities, regardless of social and economic disparities, exposure to gun violence, or other violent acts, as well as personal or family struggles with drug addiction that may adversely impact their mental health. We are committed to offering multi-leveled programming that caters to the diverse needs of students, particularly those who have traditionally been marginalized or considered to be at risk. Through our mentoring services and relationships, we endeavor to provide support to youth who may be at risk or high risk of juvenile delinquency, victimization, or involvement with the juvenile justice system.
wHO WE SERVE
The purpose of this corporation is to provide educational/athletic student assistance including creating accessible student programs that address identified educational and/or athletic needs to access academic and/or athletic scholarships. In addition, this corporation is committed to addressing areas related to social/emotional mental health needs for students who have experienced traumatic events such as concerns related to gun violence and/or other acts of violence, drug addiction or may be at high risk for juvenile delinquency, victimization, and/or involvement with the juvenile justice system that has otherwise impacted a student’s access and/or educational progress in pursuit of post-secondary education or training. L.O.A.A.D, Inc will collaborate with local school systems, police departments, juvenile systems, medical professionals, and other qualified tax-exempt organizations section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code to support all clients and members of our community.
Closer look into our community structure
Economic disparity that has been identified through the participation in state programs such as SNAP by families are directly eligible for our service, but what about those that are not easily identified? When you look at marital status in Charles County you can see that the single parent percentage sits right around 45%. A closer look shows in the 1st graph that around 60% of the single parent households, are single mothers. Single father or mother, every expense that belongs to a house hold could very easily rest with 1 working adult without any help. The economy of our nation is rapidly changing with prices for simple things as a carton of eggs becoming a problem. This creates issues for parents wanting to create a better opportunity above and beyond what may be offered through their local school system. Programs like specific tutoring, skill set training, age appropriate weight training and conditioning, language assitance programs, exposure to prospective uinversities and more. These types of programs can be extremely impactful in both the academic and athletic future of a promising student. All to often though, our students miss out on these types of opportunities because it is too financially taxing on a single parent. These future leaders deserve access to these same opportunities.
